Usually yes. Introduce new pets slowly, give each animal its own space at first, and reward calm behavior.

Can Maine Coons live in an apartment?
Yes, if they have room to move. Give them tall cat trees, sturdy scratchers and daily play.

Kitten care

How often should I feed a kitten?
Feed three to four small meals a day until about six months old, then two meals a day. Always provide fresh water.
How do I prepare my home for a kitten?
Set up a litter box, food and water, a scratching post and a quiet hiding spot. Remove toxic plants, cords and small objects that could be swallowed.
When should my kitten have its first vet visit?
Book a vet visit within the first week or so after coming home. Bring the health records we give you.

Choose a tall, heavy, stable post, at least as tall as the cat stretched out. Large cats can topple flimsy posts.

Start in separate rooms and swap scents with a blanket. Then allow short, calm meetings, with the dog on a lead. Never force contact.
Should my kitten be indoor only?
We recommend an indoor life with safe outdoor time, such as a harness or a catio. It protects against cars, predators and disease.

How do I stop my kitten from biting?
Redirect biting to toys and never use your hands for play. Stop the game if your kitten bites and reward calm behavior. Kittens usually outgrow it with consistent training.
How do I travel with a kitten?
Use a secure, well-ventilated carrier with a soft blanket. Keep the trip calm and short, and never leave a kitten alone in a car.
When should I start brushing my kitten's teeth?
Start early with a soft finger brush and cat toothpaste, and never use human toothpaste. Short, gentle sessions build a lifelong habit. Ask your vet for a demonstration.
